About Hamiliton

Located at the tip of Canada’s Golden Horseshoe, Hamilton is a vibrant and rapidly growing community in a region known for its livability. The city combines a perfect location with amazing culture, causing it to be one of the best places to live in Canada. The city’s appeal has lured thousands of people to move to the Hamilton region to enjoy everything it has to offer.

Only 45 minutes outside of Toronto, Hamilton provides an affordable alternative for people living in Canada’s biggest city to call home. Not only is it super close to Canada’s financial and cultural hub, but it’s also less than an hour away from some of Canada’s most famous attractions, such as Niagara Falls and the Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve.

In addition to its convenient location, Hamilton also boasts a number of festivals and events that add a whole new level to the Hamilton experience. For most of its history, Hamilton was known as a heavy industrial area - even today, people know it as Canada’s steel capital. Recently, however, the city has shifted towards a much more diversified economy. Today, the city now boasts distinct neighbourhoods that all contribute to the unique flavour of the region. From Ottawa Street, the largest fabric and textile district in Canada, to Locke Street, which boasts numerous festivals such as Chritmas and Spring events, the city truly encompasses all sorts of events and activities to keep locals entertained.

Hamilton’s culture also manifests itself in other ways. Home of the naval destroyer HMCS Haida and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, the military also has a longstanding relationship with the city. A few blocks from the HMCS Haida lie McMaster University, Canada’s 4th best university, and the Royal Botanical Gardens. With all the city has to offer, it’s no wonder why so many people are deciding to move to the city.

The future is bright for Hamilton. Don’t just take our word for it, look at the 10,000+ new arrivals in the city over just the past year. When you combine its geography with everything it has to offer, it’s a no-brainer as to why the city is one of the fastest-growing municipalities in Canada. Only time will tell what’s to come for Hamilton, but if it’s anything like the past few years, the future is bright.
