Established in 2012, the Hamilton 40 Under Forty Business Achievement Awards is an annual program that celebrates the region's brightest young professionals under the age of 40. Over 11 years, this prestigious program has honoured 440 exceptional individuals, including recipients of the esteemed Best in Class and Alumni Impact Award, showcasing the incredible talent driving Hamilton's growth, innovation, and community spirit.

Spotlight on "Best in Class"
Each year, one honoree from the 40 recipients is awarded the distinguished Best in Class recognition, celebrating their unmatched excellence and leadership. This award represents the pinnacle of achievement within the program.
Alumni Impact Award
The Alumni Impact Award was established in 2023 to recognize alumni who have made lasting contributions to Hamilton. The first recipient was Tony De Luca, a 2012 alumnus, followed by PJ Mercanti, a 2012 alumnus, in 2024. This award underscores the significant influence and achievements of past honorees, amplifying their ongoing impact on the community.

Selection Process for the 40 Under Forty Recipients
Annually, a thorough selection process identifies 40 exceptional professionals. A committed panel of judges, comprising past alumni and esteemed business leaders, evaluates nominations based on well-defined selection criteria.

To be eligible for the Hamilton 40 Under Forty Awards, nominees must:

2024 Hamilton 40 Under Forty Business Achievement Awards Gala
On October 23, 2024, nearly 300 guests gathered at Carmens Banquet Centre to celebrate the exceptional achievements of Hamilton’s top young leaders at the 11th annual 40 Under Forty Business Achievement Awards. Hosted by Masters of Ceremony Ashley Borzellino and Vince Genuardi, the event showcased the accomplishments of 40 award recipients, including entrepreneurs, business professionals, and non-profit leaders.

The evening’s highlights included the presentation of the Best in Class Award to John-Anthony Losani, sponsored by Deso Construction, and the Alumni Impact Award to PJ Mercanti, a 2012 alumnus, recognizing his lasting contributions to Hamilton’s growth.

With the support of 36 local businesses, including 21 alumni-owned ventures, the gala reflected the collaborative spirit driving Hamilton’s business community. Since its inception, the Hamilton 40 Under Forty program has celebrated 440 trailblazers, fostering leadership and innovation in the region.
