Mariana Garrido
Kytos / Future Black Female

Mariana Garrido, a former virology researcher, is the founder of Kytos and a leading advocate with Future Black Female. Through Kytos, she develops creative science-learning tools, while her advocacy work empowers Black youth across Ontario. Mariana has led key initiatives like Brock’s Women in STEM and promotes mental health in academia. Her journey from lab to leadership reflects a passion for inclusive education, social research, and giving young people the tools and voice to lead.
