Adrian is President and Creative Head of Fourgrounds Media Inc. in St. Catharines—a company he started while he was still a Brock University student. His commitment to offering cutting-edge video production to clients in the Niagara area has paid dividends. Adrian and his team have won several awards, have created many award-winning films, and have helped put Niagara on the filmmaking map. Adrian is Past President of the Board of the Niagara Workforce Board, sits on a variety of committees, and frequently donates to Start Me Up Niagara and the Lincoln County Humane Society.

Alicia is the Community Relations Coordinator at Hospice Niagara. Here, she’s responsible for managing the Community Relations team and leading various campaigns. Since joining Hospice, Alicia has implemented a variety of fundraising events to raise money and awareness for hospice services. Alicia has also taken on a volunteer role in the community where she’s involved in several public relations fundraising events, and, in addition, she’s active with several charities including the United Way and Garden City Productions, where she chairs their Social Committee.

Ashley is the Executive Director of the Learning Disabilities Association of Niagara Region where she oversees the day-to-day operations including program budgeting and increasing awareness of learning disabilities in the community. In just two years, she’s helped her agency expand its staff and open new satellite programs. Ashley has been involved with several Niagara committees including the Public Health Community Planning Committee, the District School Board of Niagara, and the Niagara Resources Project.

As an Economic Development Officer for the City of St. Catharines, Brian promotes and encourages business investment in the city. Brian’s professional career has included project management, business retention, and private sector consulting. He has helped bring investment, contributing to the revitalization of downtown St. Catharines and promoting the region’s business growth. Brian is also active in the Niagara business community and has served on the board of directors for the Niagara International Marathon and the Small Business Club of Niagara.

Designer Delights is the creation of lifelong best friends Chelsey and Jenna, who turned their childhood dream of owning a business into a thriving cupcake venture. In just two and a half years, they’ve catered hundreds of special events and corporate functions, nearly quadrupling their sales. After starting as a home-based operation while working full-time jobs, they opened their first storefront in Fonthill this past November. Chelsey and Jenna also give back to the community, donating cupcakes and support to many local charities and business organizations across Niagara.

As Executive Director and Founder of the Niagara Sustainability Initiative, Evan is dedicated to helping local businesses adopt sustainable practices. Even his own business idea has reached a level of success, seeing Niagara-based organizations join their regional greenhouse gas inventory program, a collaborative initiative led by Niagara College. As part-time consultant to young professionals, Evan is also heavily involved in the community, taking active roles with the Niagara Climate Change Network and the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce’s Transportation & Energy Committee.

As Co-owner of Parents Peace of Mind Childcare, Heather is responsible for nearly every facet of her business—from scheduling to marketing to bookkeeping. Since opening its doors in 2009, Heather’s business has grown substantially and now has a waiting list well into 2013. In fact, business has been so good that she opened a second location in February. An active member of the community, Heather supports several organizations and causes like the Rankin Run for the Cure and Ronald McDonald House.

Jessica is Vice-President of Gales Gas Bars & Bob’s Fast & Fresh Convenience, directly overseeing all convenience locations as well as Gales’ Commercial Credit Card accounts. Previously a nurse, Jessica has always been involved in the family business, joining the company full time three years ago. In just three years, Jessica has seen the new convenience stores skyrocket with four stores just being added. Jessica is also honoured to be part of many local community organizations including the Brock Niagara Community Foundation and the Bob Gale Recreation Fund.

Matthew is the Vice-President and General Manager of Kaumeyer Paper Limited. He oversees all departments at Kaumeyer, managing approximately 20 employees while directing their sales department, producing their marketing materials and expanding their online presence. Matthew continues to lead Kaumeyer into new areas, bringing innovation and variety to their customers while promoting environmentally-friendly items. Kaumeyer hasn’t experienced any staff turnover in a number of years, and Matthew feels his loyal and dedicated employees are their greatest strength.

Nick is Branch Manager of Meridian’s Kalar & McLeod Branch in Niagara Falls, where he manages a staff of nine and provides a superior level of financial service. Holding various management positions at Meridian, Nick became Branch Manager in 2010 and has seen his branch’s sales, assets and revenues grow substantially since he came on board. Nick has spent many hours working in the community and is currently a member of the Niagara Falls Rotary Club and Habitat for Humanity’s Family Services Committee.

Over the years, Scott has had a clear passion for helping people deal with all their personal and commercial insurance needs. A broker at Glenny Insurance since 2000, Scott was promoted to the position of Vice-President in 2012—and has managed considerable growth over time, taking on more and more clients, and increasing his personal sales. Scott is passionate about his clients—and the community, acting as President of the Niagara South Rotary Association and Treasurer of the Fort Erie Tennis Club.

Serge is the Owner of Skycomp Solutions Inc.—a leading IT service provider in St. Catharines. Serge started the company part-time in 1992 and was successful enough to go full-time in 2003. Skycomp has completed 300+ implementations, networking, and infrastructure support for small and mid-sized businesses across the region. Serge is heavily involved with Rib Fest and the Rotary TV Auction, and recently joined the Board of the Canadian Henley Rowing Corporation.

As the Owner of Gypsy Alley, Talia offers fashion clothing and accessories in downtown Thorold. When she couldn’t find work in her chosen career, she founded Gypsy Alley in 2009 and her modest store became a big success. Driven and dedicated, Talia has volunteered over 3,000 hours with Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Niagara for five years straight. She is also involved in many committees and programs including the Niagara Community Design Program and the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce.

Trevor is a freelance web developer, leading a team of Niagara-based contractors to create web development of all types. Trevor, a graduate of Brock University’s Marketing (BEB) program, has volunteered in the community for several years. Since 2005 he has continued to give back and now serves as the volunteer project coordinator for the Niagara Early Warning System. He’s also active in Niagara’s IT and technology sectors and has helped grow the region’s digital creative professionals.

As the owner and founder of AVV Studio in Welland, Victoria is responsible for everything from membership and scheduling to advertising and rentals. An accomplished Zumba instructor, Victoria has seen her dance studio double in size since it first opened. She now has eight instructors on staff and over 300 students. Over time, Victoria has done classes and presentations for several charitable organizations such as Wellspring Niagara, The Hope Centre and the GoodLife Kids Foundation.

As a Creator, Owner and Director of Hands On Health Corp. in Port Colborne, Alicja built her business from a registered massage therapy practice into a team of professionals within her RMT Clinic & Esthetics Spa. Alicja is always striving to improve her business, learning staff, adding new therapies, and opening a larger location last February. Alicja is an active member of the Port Colborne-Wainfleet Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown BIA and enjoys promoting the community that supports her business.

As a Business Analyst with nGen, Blake is responsible for providing advisory services to technology-based companies across the Niagara Region. An active learner, Blake is dedicated to improving his skills and his community by participating in many seminars and professional development workshops. He has extensive mentoring and strategic mentorship at the nGen Regional Innovation Centre. A community-oriented person, Blake regularly volunteers his time with several organizations including the Niagara Hamilton Employment Council and the Canadian Youth Business Foundation.

Cara is a Senior Relationship Manager at Brock Co-op Programs where she reaches out to employers and finds employment for students. She is also the Owner of CBoese Consulting, helping small business owners find the best people for their team. Cara has experienced success wherever she goes and has received several awards from the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers. She is very involved with the St. Catharines Jaycees, which supports several charities including Community Care and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Chevonn is in charge of Business Development at Diamond Estates Wines & Spirits, where she oversees community outreach, corporate gifting, wine club, planning events and generating revenue through their two retail venues. Since joining the Diamond team in 2001, she has helped to enhance company sales and revenues, and to increase their loyal winery tourism market. On a personal level, Chevonn also obtained her Canadian Accredited Professional Sommelier designation in 2010, and offers wine education programs at the White Oaks Conference Resort & Spa and Niagara College.

Greg Marotta is General Manager of Thomas Solutions—an industrial leasing and manpower firm. Greg’s vision and perseverance have transformed Thomas Solutions from a small single-client business into an innovative company with over 40 clients in various markets. Greg is always looking to grow his business—recently adding new locations and employees, doubling the fleet size, and expanding into the Northern mining and resources sector. He’s also been a board member of Niagara Against Drunk Driving, and coached several youth sports teams.

Isabell is the President and Managing Director of Aeris Language Solutions, a Niagara-based translation firm where she’s responsible for managing her international clients and contractors, as well as sales, marketing and public relations. A long-time entrepreneur, Isabell has used grit and determination to turn a modest venture into a growing concern. Isabell has always tried to lead by example. That has led her to volunteer countless hours with the Small Business Enterprise Centre as a mentor, advisory board member, and workshop facilitator.

Kyle is Founder and President of Clickback—a company offering a full range of marketing and automation solutions. Kyle’s business philosophy is based on “customer-driven” principles, which has led to an impressive client roster. Since incorporating Clickback in 1996, Kyle has experienced incredible success, dramatic sales increases, and rapid company growth. Kyle has also demonstrated a strong commitment to his community and is involved with several organizations including the Niagara Community Foundation and The Friends of the St. Catharines Museum and M.S. Society.

Melissa is Partner and Co-founder of Melissa’s Aloe. Melissa has also experienced tremendous growth in her business—strong work ethic and commitment to her vision. Starting as a family-run operation, they’ve expanded from a home business in Niagara to the creation of two locations across North America in just six years. Melissa is proud to remain in Niagara and supports several charities and organizations including Red Roof Retreat, the SPCA and various race groups.

As the Proprietor of the South Coast Cookhouse in Crystal Beach, Phil is responsible for advertising and promotions in addition to daily operations. Since the restaurant opened in 2008, his restaurant has increased its gross revenues and grown to employ 30 people. Phil has also had a successful career as a Realtor with Prudential Realty, winning fourteen Prudential Awards. An avid runner, Phil has completed two marathons and is involved in helping to raise money for Team Diabetes in memory of his grandfather.

Scott specializes in providing his clients with IT solutions that help them succeed in a rapidly changing business environment. In recent years, Scott has grown his business by adding a new e-marketing department, new employees, and expanded the American clientele. Over his career, Scott’s firm has won several Reader’s Choice Awards and he was recently nominated for the Entrepreneur Award for Canada. Scott is also proud to serve his community, and currently acts as Vice-President of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce.

Shannon has loved gymnastics since she was a child. That passion convinced her to launch an all-inclusive gymnastics club with her mother called Quantum Niagara Gymnastics Inc. A Level 4 national gymnastics instructor, Shannon is dedicated to providing athletes strong and self-confident and provide gymnastics to everyone—regardless of income. At the new 9,000 sq. ft. facility in Niagara Falls, Shannon and her classes volunteer their time with local parades and ceremonies including events at McBain Community Centre and the Boys & Girls Clubs in Niagara Falls.

A graduate of Westlane Secondary School in Niagara Falls, Tiffany joined Crawford, Smith & Swallow in 2005 as a co-op student. In 2009, she received her Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) degree from Brock University and successfully completed the Chartered Accountant and In-Depth tax requirements. She has gained a range of accounting, auditing and tax-related experience and provides clients with a variety of assurance services. Always active in her community, Tiffany has volunteered with several agencies including Big Brothers Big Sisters and Habitat for Humanity.

Alexis is owner of Lexxpress Productions—a developer of world-class tradeshows and special events. As a long-time motor sports enthusiast, Alexis recently established the Niagara Motorcycle Show, taking place July 20th to the 22nd at the Scotiabank Convention Centre. As Show Manager, she co-ordinates all show logistics—implementing ideas and executing all facets of the event. Alexis has always been an active member of her community and supports several local charities including Out of the Rain, Big Brothers & Big Sisters Club, The Tony Stacey Centre and The Holmes Foundation.

As Partner and Vice-President of Administration at Credit Bureau Services Canada, Amy is responsible for managing regional and national client portfolios and providing all front-end services. Always looking for ways to serve her clients better, Amy recently obtained her Paralegal License through the Law Society of Upper Canada so she could provide even greater client services. She is also an active volunteer in several local organizations including the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital Foundation where she sits on their board of directors.

As a construction business owner, Bobby can be found giving professional advice to his clients, overseeing projects or sweating it out on a job with his crew. Bobby’s problem-solving and “do it right” attitude have left many appreciative and satisfied clients. Over the years, Bobby the Builder’s sales have grown with larger projects. Bobby is conscious about reusing construction materials, whether it’s using proper recycling practices or donating to Habitat for Humanity. Bobby also educates his clients toward energy-minded products and designs.

Carlene is Production and Office Manager at Alison’s Sports Awards & Promotions in Niagara Falls. Originally joining the company part-time in 2001, Carlene now manages the production area, looking after everything from production coordination to record keeping and administrative duties. Carlene has always been a firm believer in helping the community in different ways. She’s an active volunteer with the Boys and Girls Club of Chippewa, and often helps out with their various training sessions and special events.

As the Customer Service Supervisor at Canadian Niagara Power, Courtney takes care of everything from staff training to dealing with customer concerns. Over her 13 years with Canadian Niagara Power, Courtney has quickly risen through the ranks and has helped establish several satellite offices in the Niagara Region and Eastern Ontario. Courtney is passionate about everything she does—whether it’s helping her staff or working in the community. She volunteers with several organizations including the United Way and the Greater Fort Erie Chamber of Commerce.

Greg is also the company spokesperson. Since joining Niagara Casinos in 1996, he’s held 15 different positions, resulting in greater responsibilities with each. Greg is a graduate of McGill University and is an active member of the Niagara business community, holding director positions with Community Care, the Niagara Wine Festival and Niagara Falls Tourism.

Sean is Branch Manager, Financial Advisor and Co-owner of Assante Capital Management in St. Catharines. Tom is a Manager that specializes in Audit and Assurance work at DJB Chartered Accountants. He began his career at their Grimsby office several years ago, and through his hard work rose to become a Manager at their Grimsby and Stoney Creek offices, and recently assumed the role of Tax Manager. Tom has seen his personal billings grow substantially and was awarded the Notable Networker Award from the Business Networking International’s Grimsby Chapter. A lifelong Niagara resident, Tom has volunteered his time with several organizations—and is currently President of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce.
