Ammar was born and raised in Hamilton and graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce. He is the Director of Business Development for Carmen’s Group and is passionate about elevating his hometown. Ammar has represented Hamilton nationally and helped bring major events to the city, including the JUNOS, Canadian Country Music Awards, and the Grey Cup. Recognized by the Canadian Society of Association Executives with an honorary title in 2017, he also supports local charities such as the Good Shepherd, United Way, YMCA, and the Women’s Centre. Born in Calgary and raised in Hamilton, Dennis graduated from Mohawk College’s Construction Engineering program and is a Certified Technician (C.Tech) with OACETT. After a decade in the heavy civil construction sector, he founded DESO Construction Limited in 2011, fulfilling his goal of owning a company with his brother. Specializing in sewer, water, and road construction, DESO now employs over 25 staff. Faizal is a serial entrepreneur, investor and mentor. He co-founded: CognoVision (sold to Intel) where he experienced the full life-cycle of a business from startup to exit, JaverGroup where he developed a luxury residential subdivision in Hamilton, and GreyHill a boutique advisory firm which owns and operates Real-Estate & Venture funds. His portfolio includes Unicorns from very early to investment. Faizal is a graduate of Harvard Business School and actively contributes to the community. In the founding year of OneEleven, the Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs Canada and served as EIR for Ryerson’s DMZ, and at Entrepreneurs Organization, mentor at OneEleven and McMaster’s The Forge.

Jaclyn is an Ontario Certified Teacher and Forest School Practitioner. She started working with children as a day camp instructor and program facilitator, which led her to pursue her passion to become a teacher. She has a talent for connecting with young minds and engaging students in experiential activities while recognizing the learning opportunities that exist for them in the natural environment. She hopes the Greenbelt Academy and Early Learning Centre will inspire young students to think and investigate more, pushing students to grow on various avenues for learning and inquiry.

Joseph has been part of this organization since 1994, founded in 1991 from Sam & Rosa Saputo. Under Joseph's leadership Carstar Ancaster has been leaders in the network for over 25 years. In just a few years she is now a creative, public relations and partnerships specialist and runs all media relations for the brand. Mary joined alongside the founder, Peter Mercanti. Michael Destro, Owner of Rainbow Car Washes. I was born and raised the Commerce Program at McMaster University with an honour’s distinction. I have been an entrepreneur since I was at a young age. I had the determination to want to be my own boss and felt that I could provide a lot of value to the local community that we serve. Growing up in a family of self-employed parents, owning my own business was a natural aspiration of mine. Being from Hamilton, I am proud to give back to the community through various donations

After two years helping strengthen the organization and its mission, Rachel became Executive Director of the Hamilton Brain Injury Association, where she led fundraising and community initiatives supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries. Growing up around the rental properties owned by my father, I gained early exposure to property management and developed a natural interest in the field. I began my career as a Property Manager, learning from influential mentors and working across various apartment complexes before advancing to manage condominium communities and multi-unit buildings. Vince Vaccarello is President of national insurance brokerage Trupoint Insurance Group. Headquartered locally in Stoney Creek, Trupoint has rapidly expanded since its inception and dramatically grown under his leadership. Proudly born and raised in the Niagara Region, Vince has held a variety of community volunteer positions that include youth mentoring programs. Since moving to Stoney Creek in 2005, he now serves as a Director on the Board of CYO Basketball Hamilton. Bianca manages the Centre for Climate Change Management and the Bay Area Climate Change Council at Mohawk College, helping accelerate climate action in Hamilton and Burlington. A proud McMaster graduate, she also holds a master’s degree in Environmental Policy from the London School of Economics and is a first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Bianca has worked federally and provincially, including with the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment. She also led a major project on waste heat diversion along Hamilton’s Bayfront. Bianca serves on the boards of YWCA Hamilton and the Sons & Daughters of Italy Housing Corporation.

Outside her “weed” work, she also supports harm-reduction conversations with patients.

Chiara is the founder of the online health and wellness accountability group called “Do It For YOU”. She is a practicing Dental Hygienist in the Hamilton area and has been for 14 years, and in February 2020, she decided to become an online coach through her passion for helping others. Born and raised in Hamilton, Jack Densmore started his YouTube channel "Jack Denmo" in August 2017. Before making videos, he worked in various jobs and industries; from Forest Firefighting for the OMNR to running a Property Management and YouTube compilation business. In 2019, he set his other ventures aside and decided to turn his passion of film making into his full-time job; creating comical videos and posting them on the internet.

Jessica Tenente started Saff By Jess in September of 2019. Saff by Jess is known to be a luxury balloon business that specializes in custom balloon displays and unique gifts. Jessica is also seen collaborating with many other small businesses in the community. What started off as a “side hustle” has now blown up literally and figuratively. Jessica only plans on taking her business even further. Just recently she has expanded her business to the Saff By You line which is a balloon kit done by you guessed it! You! This has been a huge hit and another reason why Jessica’s business continues to thrive.

Kris began his leadership journey at 18 in the hospitality sector before moving into the sheet metal trade in 2001, becoming licensed in 2006. He was quickly promoted into management, mentoring tradespeople, project coordinators, and support staff. Over three decades, he has held roles that allowed him to help run a company and chair strategic planning meetings while lobbying on behalf of his local union. Kris has also served as Co-Chair and Canadian Registration Board member for Category B, representing sheet metal workers in the South and Golden Horseshoe regions. A long-time volunteer with organizations such as Children’s Aid, Good Shepherd, Threshold House, and Interval House, he has helped raise over $120,000 for charity. He now works for GSB as a construction safety specialist.

Mark began his career with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2015, specializing in Stadium Events and Operations. After several successful seasons as Manager of Stadium Events and Operations, he was promoted to Director of Fan Relations, overseeing the Guest Experience team. In this role, he implemented a new customer service philosophy and created an internship program that helped many participants secure full-time roles in the sports and entertainment industry. Mark holds a Bachelor of History with a minor in Legal Studies and Criminology from the University of Windsor, as well as a Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University. He believes in leading by example and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Sports Council of Ontario.

Mercedes founded Greater Than Gifting in 2019, an online gifting shop with a mission to give back. The idea grew from her support of women-owned small businesses fundraising for Zolgensma, a gene therapy used to treat Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Through her shop, Mercedes curates meaningful gifts made from Canadian, eco-friendly products whose proceeds directly support children’s causes. She also uses her platform to host global fundraisers that help prevent children’s medical debt. Outside her business, Mercedes works full-time as a Registered Nurse with a strong background in pediatric hematology—experience that deeply inspires her commitment to giving back.

My entire adult life I felt entrepreneurship was in my DNA. It wasn’t until my father, and I started working on renovating an old home my wife and I purchased that the renovator bug bit me. The rest is history. I’m now a proud husband and father. I hope one day my son and our children’s children might choose to work in our family business. It is a large part of my motivation to make sure our company is sustainable and thrives for many years to come. What my father has taught me is that a strong foundation based on integrity and good people is essential to our success.

As someone who has been privileged to align her personal and professional passions, she committed to making a difference in the Hamilton community. Tarah joined Childventures Early Learning Academy, a Hamilton- founded premium early childhood education provider in the Forest Community, in 2021 as Director, People Success. Prior to joining Childventures Tarah spent over 10 years working within Hamilton’s non-profit sector, where she brought her leadership and strategic planning resources strategy within grassroots organizations which support Hamilton’s vulnerable populations.

Tyler has been an insurance professional in the region for 13+ years. His work experience includes product development, Underwriting, sales leadership, and now being a marketing director for global insurance brands. With his new year old son, the community with his new year old son, contributing to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or for the last 15 years signing and performing music in restaurants and bars throughout Hamilton and surrounding areas.
